I’ve decided to start a new personal project, a video project in fact. Now, I’ve been a fan of This American Life for several years and I was always fascinated with the idea of recording actual people telling their stories. So, this little project of mine will simply involve me interviewing someone about an interesting topic or recording them telling an interesting anecdote.

So, the vimeo channel where I’m posting this is at http://vimeo.com/ramble

Here is the first one, please enjoy and tell me what you think in the comments. Be aware, these videos are recorded on my Motorolo Droid X. So, they are great quality for a smart phone but… best not compare them to a real camera.

and the sequel,

This is incredible.

The time called summer moves real nicely along. I have only dry goods left in my larder, but I’m getting by. Knitting and crocheting for money is an infinitely hectic task. I’d rather like it to slow down as the stress level does not compare favorably to net profits whatsoever.

I wonder what fall will be like.I don’t think I’m wondering as much about this fall as I was about the last one. I’ve been here. I know what to expect.

My birthday is in ten days. The Nyphaeaceae are a family of water lilies and the month flower of July. The crab represents Cancer.

I find myself constantly trying to figure out what kind of artist I want to be. I too often compare myself harshly to people who’ve been drawing and illustrating for long periods of time. i don’t have my Thing yet. Do I want one?

Without work, nothing.

Summer Art Projects

Been working high speed on lots of things since I returned to Columbus.

But first, here’s a few pictures of my new Rankin room.

CROCHETING AND KNITTING PROJECTS

Couple little hats I made while watching 30 Rock on Netflix. By the way, it’s a great show and totes worth the eight buck I reckon.

DSCF7205

Big gray scar I’m making for myself. Hello Captain Picard!

 DSCF7207

I really love the yarn I used for this hat. It’s all one color and very inexpensive 😀

2D ART

Little painting I did for fun of a Raichu smoking a cigarette.

Sorry the images aren’t clearer.

DSCF7217

Not sure about how I feel about this thing. I want to play with the idea some more, but it felt good to play with ink again on a larger scale.

And now, the Big Thing I’m Working On:

DSCF7218

Woo! Imperial Star Destroyer!

DSCF7220

It’s on a bit of wood I rescued from the theater’s woodshop. It came with all the purple and splatters already on it.

DSCF7221

Here’s the original line drawing. I covered the back with charcoal and then set it down on the wood and beared down really hard on the pen to make a transfer.

DSCF7209

It’s definitely a work in progress. I want to go in later and add all the weird little details and things that stick out.

And here’s my work area:

Oh, Ira. You sad, wonderful man.

Anyway, so that’s what’s going on with me. HOW ARE YOU?
